All students admitted to VCU are assigned an advisor.  Students who are admitted to the nursing degree are advised by School of Nursing faculty.  Students in the pre-nursing program and undeclared students meet with advisors in the School of Humanities & Sciences. 

Freshman and sophomore nursing students will meet with their advisor twice annually — once in the first few weeks of the semester and again around registration time.  It is recommended that all other students contact their advisor at least once each semester to discuss their progress in current classes and to verify classes to register for the approaching semester.  Students who are unsure about what to do or where to go should seek guidance from their advisor.  Students meet with pre-health advisors in the college of Humanities and Sciences.
