Discovery through Service
Our commitment to new discoveries extends beyond the School of Nursing to greater VCU community. Throughout its history, the School has embraced the importance of community service through the work of its students and faculty.
The Community Nursing Organization (CNO) links the community and the School of Nursing. Focusing on the development of innovative nursing and multi-disciplinary practice, teaching and scholarship, the organization establishes formal partnerships to address the public's health needs.
The CNO accomplishes its mission by:
- Providing a link between the community and the School of Nursing.
- Developing creative models to prepare students for leadership, practice and scholarship.
- Facilitating practice for needs identified by the community.
- Promoting opportunities for clinical research on the health care needs of vulnerable populations.
