  • (SMANNCA) Southern Mid-Atlantic Navy Nurse Corps Association - A scholarship offered to undergraduate nursing students to continue their studies for a baccalaureate degree in Nursing.
  • NEF Nurses' Educational Funds- Nurses Educational Funds, Inc. (NEF) is a not-for-profit organization which seeks and distributes funds to baccalaureate-prepared registered nurses who are in need of scholarship assistance for graduate study.  http://www.n-e-f.org
  • All-Ink.com - is committed to helping students pursue their goal of a higher education.  All-Ink.com is offering up to $10,000 in scholarships to qualified students who are enrolled or planning to participate in an accredited college or university program during the Spring 2006 or Fall 2006 term or full-year 2006-2007 school year.
  • American Association of Critical-Care Nurses - Educational Advancement Scholarships advance the art and sciences of critical care nursing and promote nursing professionalism.  The scholarships support AACN members who are registered nurses completing a baccalaureate or graduate degree program in nursing.  Award recipients receive $1,500 per academic year.  Funds unused due to graduation or dropping out of the program will be returned to AACN by the college or university.
  • Army ROTC Nurse Officer Program - Provides financial assistance for the education and training of highly qualified and motivated young men and women who desire to be commissioned as officers in the Army after graduation from college.   • Cancer Prevention Fellowship Program - The NCI Cancer Prevention Fellowship Program provides postdoctoral training opportunities in cancer prevention and control.   • Carilion Health System Thomas L. Robertson Honorary Nursing Scholarship
    To help those interested in pursuing a nursing career, Carilion announces the continuation of the Thomas L. Robertson Honorary Nursing Scholarships.
  • Collegiate Inventors Competition - Open to students who have been enrolled full time in a college or university over the past 12 months. You must submit an original idea, process or technology that will be judged on originality and inventiveness, as well as on its potential value to society (socially, environmentally, and economically), and on its range or scope of use. Up to four students may work together as a team. However, only one prize will be awarded per entry.
  • Datatel Scholars Foundation Scholarship - open to undergraduate and graduate students currently attending a Datatel Client college or university. Application materials include a personal statement essay, official transcripts and two letters of recommendation.
  • Discover Nursing - Many scholarships are available for nursing students. Not all people qualify for every scholarship.  Limit your results by using search criteria.
  • Foundation of the NSNA, Inc.  - The Foundation of the National Student Nurses Association exists to promote the nursing profession through scholarshisp, leadership and development.
  • Fullbright Grant - The Fulbright Grant Program is open to U.S. citizens who are interested in international study. Students in all fields of study are eligible to apply for this award. Preference is given to students whose higher education was received primarily in the United States and who have not lived in the country in which they wish to study for more than six months. You must have or will have earned a B.A. or its equivalent before the beginning date of the grant. You may have a J.D., but may not have obtained a Ph.D. at the time of application.
  • Harriett G. Jenkins Predoctoral Fellowship Program - The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has partnered with the United Negro College Fund Special Programs Corporation (UNCFSP) to develop and manage the Harriett G. Jenkins Predoctoral Fellowship Program (JPFP). The mission of the JPFP is to increase the number of women, minorities, and disabled persons participating in the math, science, engineering, and technology (MSET) disciplines in the
    workforce.
  • Hattie M. Strong Foundation Loan -  an interest-free loan available to American students, studying in the U.S. or abroad, who are entering their final year in a baccalaureate or graduate degree program. This is a competitive loan program taking into consideration your level of motivation, financial need, self-reliance and scholastic record. You must write to the Foundation, giving a brief personal history and identification of the educational institution you are attending, your field of study, your anticipated graduation date and the amount of funds needed. If you qualify for consideration for a loan, a formal application will be sent to you to be completed and sent back to the Foundation. Please enclose a self addressed stamped envelope with your application.
  • Health Careers Scholarship The Health Research and Educational Trust of New Jersey (HRET), an affiliate of the New Jersey Hospital Association (NJHA), believes it is particularly important to encourage and enable New Jersey residents to pursue health careers and, therefore, has established a scholarship fund to assist in meeting this need. Minorities and women are encouraged to apply.
  • March of Dimes Graduate Nursing Scholarship To recognize and promote excellence in nursing care of mothers and babies, the March of Dimes offers four $5,000 scholarships annually to registered nurses enrolled in graduate programs of maternal-child nursing.
  • Scholarship for LGBT Health Professions Students The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Health, Education and Research Trust, Inc. (LGBT HEART) is pleased to announce the creation of a new scholarship program, LGBT HEART Scholarship Fund for the Graduate Health Professions. This dedicated scholarship is for LGBT-identified students in the graduate-level health professions.  Deadline:  June 1, 2005
  • Mary Marshall Nursing Scholarship Program
    - The Code of Virginia authorizes annual nursing scholarships for students enrolled in undergraduate and graduate nursing programs.  The Board of Health is authorized to award available nursing scholarships from the Nursing Scholarship Fund.
  • National Health Services Corp (NHSC) - The NHSC offers a competitive scholarship program designed for students committed to providing primary health care in communities of greatest need. Scholarship recipients serve where they are most needed upon completion of their training.
  • Navy Nurse Candidate Program  - Registered nurses and nursing students are a valuable asset to the Navy.   • Nursing Society Scholarship Opportunities - Sigma Theta Tau
  • Nurse Practioner/Nurse Midwife Scholarship Program - Any student accepted or enrolled in an accredited nurse practitioner or nurse midwifery program shall be eligible for a Virginia Nurse Practitioner/Nurse Midwife Scholarship.  Preference for the scholarship award shall be given to residents of the Commonwealth, minority students, students enrolled in family practice, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatric, adult health and geriatric nurse practitioner programs; and residents of medically underserved areas of Virginia as determined by the Board of Health in accordance with the provision of its regulations for that purpose.
  • Phi Kappa Phi - Established in 1932, the Fellowship Program awards annually sixty Fellowships of $5,000 each and forty Awards of Excellence of $2,000 each for post-graduate study at accredited institutions of higher learning. The one-hundred scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis for first-year graduate or professional study. Each chapter may nominate one student for the national competition. All national nominees receive a one-year active membership in Phi Kappa Phi.
  • Sallie Mae's Teach for Virginia and Care for Virginia Student Loan Programs - Sallie Mae's Teach for Virginia and Care for Virginia Student Loan Programs are intended to attract and retain talent in Virginia by offering low-cost loans to teaching and nursing students in Virginia.  More specifically, the Teach and Care for Virginia Loan Programs offer eligible borrowers up to 10 percent cash back - paid either as cash or a loan balance reduction of principal - on the original amount of their student loans. This can translate into real savings - for example, someone with a $10,000 Stafford Loan could save 10 percent - or $1,000 - through the program.
  • Scholarship and fellowship money abounds - for students pursuing undergraduate or graduate work in nursing. All awards have various criteria for recipients, which may include financial need, academic achievement and involvement in community activities. In addition, some may require payment of an application fee. Contact the sponsoring organizations for specific information and deadlines.

  • StraightForward Media Nursing School Scholarship - Established in 2004, StraightForward Media's $500 Nursing School Scholarships are offered four times per year to help the nurses of tomorrow complete their schooling.
  • Talbots Women's Scholarship Fund - open to women who are seeking a degree from an accredited four-year or two-year college, university or vocational-technical school.  To be considered for this award, you must be a woman who has earned a high school diploma or GED at least 10 years ago (no later than September of 1992). The award requires you to submit an essay and transcript with the application.
  • TextbookX.com Scholarship available to undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in good standing at an accredited college or university in the U.S. You must be a legal resident of the U.S. or an international student with a valid visa to be eligible. To apply for this scholarship, you must write a 250 to 750 word essay on the following topic: What is a nation? In responding to this question, you must make reference to one book that has had a significant influence on your thoughts.
  • VALOR Program - The VALOR Program provides opportunities for outstanding students to develop competencies in clinical nursing at the VA Maryland Health Care System (VAMHCS).
  • Virginia Board for People With Disabilities - The Disability Policy Fellowship was established in 1994 in response to a critical need for improved decision-making concerning issues affecting people with disabilities. The fellowship not only promotes scholarly research and work but offers a graduate or doctoral student an opportunity to engage in the practice of public policy and administration and develop skills in a variety of areas including Data Collection and Analysis, Quantitative/Qualitative Research, Program Evaluation, Policy Analysis, Legislative Tracking & Analysis and Need Assessment.
  • Virginia BPW Foundation -The purpose of this award is to provide financial assistance to increase the skills of mature women employed or seeking employment; to increase the pool of women qualified for higher level positions; and to help women achieve economic self-sufficiency by supporting educational efforts that are personally and financially rewarding. Scholarships range from $100 to $1,000 for one year, and may be used for tuition, fees, books, transportation, living expenses, and dependent care. Applicants must be women 25 year of age or older, U.S. citizens, residents of Virginia, and accepted into an accredited program or course of study at a Virginia institution. Awards are based on demonstrated financial need and defined career goals.
  • Virginia Nurses Association District 5 is awarded annually to six selected nursing students attending a school of nursing within the district.  These students should be enrolled in a diploma, associate degree or baccalaureate degree program.   The scholarship is awarded to those students who exhibit high academic achievement, a commitment to nursing, and strong clinical and leadership abilities.  Contact Beverly Ross 804-675-5389.
