Mary Jo Grap, PhD, RN, ACNP, FAAN Center PI and Director of Administrative Core
Dr. Grap's research focuses on improving pulmonary outcomes in critically ill adults, specifically related to reducing ventilator associated pnuemonia and optimizing sedation.

Nancy L. McCain, DSN, RN, FAAN, Director of Biobehavioral Science Core
Dr. McCain serves as the Director of the BSC. Dr. McCain was the PI and Director of the Administrative Core for the successful P20 Exploratory Center in biobehavioral clinical research at VCU (P20 NR008988). Her individual research in biobehavioral science has focused on testing intervention strategies for stress management in persons with HIV infection (R01 NR04395, R01 AT00331) and in women receiving chemotherapy for early-stage breast cancer (R01 CA114718).

Debra Lyon, PhD, RN, FNP-BC, FNAP Co-Director Biobehavioral Science Core
Dr. Lyon has conducted biobehavioral symptom research for over 10 years, examining biomarkers of symptoms and symptom management in HIV disease and breast cancer.

R. K. Elswick Jr., PhD, Director of Biostatistics and Data Services Core
Dr. Elswick serves as a co-investigator on several independently funded studies of the School of Nursing faculty.
