Stress, Immunity and Symptoms in Fibromyalgia
Principal Investigator: Dr. Victoria Menzies
The purpose of this pilot study is to examine the relationships among symptoms of pain, fatigue, anxiety, depression, sleep and functional status, levels of selected pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory cytokines and perceived stress in women diagnosed with fibromyalgia. The proposed pilot study will provide important preliminary data to address gaps in our knowledge of potential relationships among PNI-based biomarkers, functional status, symptoms, and perceived stress in women diagnosed with fibromyalgia. These findings will be used to inform a future PNI-based intervention study.
