Entry Level Master's Program for Non-Nurses

Virginia Commonwealth University School of Nursing offers the Accelerated Master's program to meet the needs of students who have earned a baccalaureate degree in another discipline who now wish to enter nursing and prepare for advanced practice roles in nursing such as the nurse practitioner or clinical nurse specialist. The accelerated program awards a second baccalaureate degree in process to the master's degree in nursing. Applicants apply for a specific concentration of study in the Accelerated Master's program. The following concentrations are available for specialization within the accelerated program:

The Accelerated Master's Program is both fast paced and rigorous; therefore admission to the program is contingent upon an outstanding academic record in the previous baccalaureate field of study, excellent Graduate Record Examination - General Test scores and a strong commitment to advanced practice nursing. The program length varies depending on the specialty area of study.
