Membership Guidelines for Center Affiliates

"Center Affiliates" are those who are currently participating in biobehavioral clinical research related to critical health experiences, AND are

  1. Previously funded CBCR Pilot Investigators, OR
  2. Co-investigators of Center Scientists or Pilot Investigators, OR
  3. Currently funded as PIs for small external grants (e.g., R21, ONS, ANF), OR
  4. Actively preparing an application for R01-level funding (± 12 months from submission).

The Executive Committee will admit Affiliates to Center membership on the basis of these criteria and the potential Affiliate's membership application.

Benefits and Responsibilities of Center Affiliates
  1. Center Affiliates are eligible to use CBCR resources as they may be available and as determined by the Executive Committee. Written requests for use of specific resources must be submitted.
  2. If they are receiving research funds, Affiliates are required to contribute to the costs of CBCR resources.
  3. A Center Affiliate may use this membership designation in appropriate written materials only with the inclusion of the NIH grant reference: Center Affiliate, The Center for Biobehavioral Clinical Research, National Institute of Nursing Research, NIH, #P20 NR008988 (McCain, Project Director), inclusive dates [e.g., 2004-present; 2004-2005].
  4. Affiliates are expected to participate in CBCR-sponsored educational and training activities, including the provision of such services as mentoring, training/teaching, and reviewing grant applications.
