Events with food Events with alcohol After hours event Room descriptions
Room requests are generally processed within one business day. When your room has been reserved, you will receive an appointment email from Lotus Notes. If you have not received a response within two business days, please contact Kathi Scearce regarding your room request.
The following rooms are designated as "eating rooms." If your event will have beverages other than water and food, please make sure to designate as such in the form above. Please note the School of Nursing Handbook policy 2.17.
Food and beverages (with the exception of bottled water) can be consumed only in designated areas of the building. It is the responsibility of all members of the School of Nursing community to assist with enforcement of this policy. Designated areas in which food and beverages are allowed are the 1st floor student lounge, quiet study area and doctoral student area, third floor faculty/administrative professional lounge, Dean’s conference room, conference rooms 3038, 3001f and 4001c and private offices. Permission for use of classrooms 1015 and 2001d for functions that include consumption of food and beverages may be requested. Requests for permission for these special functions must be made to the Office of the Dean and scheduled through the room scheduling office of the School of Nursing. Scheduled classes will have priority for use of these specially designated classrooms.
When a room is used for a function that involves food and beverages, it carries with it the responsibility of the users to clean the room entirely of any food or containers and dispose of in appropriate receptacles. If it is necessary for the School of Nursing to contract professional cleaning for any debris, spills or stains that resulted from the special event, costs will be charged to the sponsor of the event.
If you plan on having alcoholic beverages at your event, please fill out this form and turn it in to the department administrative professional no later than five weeks prior to date of the function. Please submit this form to the requestor and department chair for signature and turn it in to the Delores Collier for processing. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Collier at 828-3386.
If the requested event takes place after hours, please make sure to designate on the form so that we can be sure that the facilities are open with proper heat/air conditioning.
Four classrooms have the ability to record vga and video. They are: 1009, 1011, 1015 and 2001D. To schedule a recording of your event, please email Elizabeth Miles with the name of the event, event time and room number.
