In addition to University fees and tuition, there are other expenses associated specifically with nursing school. We have outlined many of these expenses below so that you can plan ahead.

Bachelor's

Listed below are expenses for items required by the nursing program that are not included in your University tuition & fees.  Costs are accurate for the 2011-2012 academic year. 

Upon Admission
  • Uniform - $175 (2 full sets, scrub top & bottom and lab coat)
  • Skills Kit - $40
  • Stethoscope & Nursing Kit - $100
  • AHA BCLS CPR initial certification - $54, recertification - $39
  • Immunizations - $ varies
First & Subsequent Semesters
Before Graduation
  • Application for Licensure (VA Board of Nursing) - $190
  • NCLEX test - $200 (per test)
Ongoing

Transportation to clinical agencies, seminars, etc. as required -$ varies

Master's

Students in the master's program will have the following expenses in addition to Univesity student tuition and fees:

  • Typhon Nurse Practitioner Tracking System
  • A mobile device to use during your clinical rotation.

Ph.D.

  • It is recommended that you consider purchasing reference management software. We recommend EndNote.

Tuition refund policy

Refunds will be computed based on the actual withdrawal date certified by the Office of Records and Registration.  For additional information, please refer to the official university tuition and fees refund policy.
