Financial Aid

There are a variety of financial aid resources to assist you in achieving your educational goals and expenses. You may be eligible for both merit and need-based financial aid. Information regarding specific funding sources is listed below.

New students can access their individual financial aid information through the myVCU portal, located in e-Services.

Undergraduate and Graduate Students
The School of Nursing offers merit and need-based scholarships to both undergraduate and graduate nursing students. Donors and alumni have given to endowment funds to help secure the future of the VCU School of Nursing and provide a foundation of support for our students. School of Nursing scholarships are awarded from institutional funds and endowed scholarships.

Undergraduate and Graduate Students
While most of the Lettie Pate Whitehead scholarships go toward undergraduate higher education, the Foundation maintains a special interest in health education. A significant number of its scholarship grants support education in the medical, nursing and allied health care fields.

Advanced Education Nursing Traineeship Program (AENTP) PDF

Graduate Students
Annually, the School of Nursing submits an application for traineeship grants to the US Department of Health and Human Services – Health Services and Resources Administration (HRSA). The intent of the initiative is to provide funding for programs that can substantially benefit rural or underserved populations, or help meet public health nursing needs in state and/or local health departments. If the School’s application is approved and the funds are awarded, traineeship awards may be available to master’s-level students enrolled in an advanced education nursing program.
