Information sessions and tours are held most Fridays at the School of Nursing for prospective applicants to learn more information about the programs. These sessions are structured in a small group discussion format, giving you the opportunity to ask questions. The information sessions last about an hour. Due to limited seating, we request that prospective bachelor’s and master's applicants register for an upcoming session by filling out the form below. You will receive a confirmation email within two business days. If you have additional questions, please email vcu_nurse@vcu.edu or call (804) 828-5171.

Parking information

We encourage visitors to use the following parking options:

  • VCU Medical Center's Patient and Visitor Parking Deck located at 12th and Leigh Streets. Reduced rates do not apply to visitors to the MCV campus health sciences schools.
  • 8th Street Parking Deck located at 659 North 8th Street. The parking rate for visitors is $5.00.

Who should attend the VCU School of Nursing Information Sessions? 
  • If you are interested in enrolling in one of our programs in the upcoming year, we encourage you to attend. The information session focuses on an overview of the program, the application process, financial support and student life.
  • If you are a high school student, we encourage you to attend a VCU Open House or Information session as students are admitted to the VCU School of Nursing as sophomores. Guaranteed Admission is offered for entering college freshmen through the VCU Honors College.
    • The School of Nursing participates in the VCU Open House events in October, November and February. We also host an Open House for High School students in the spring.
  • If you have already been offered admission to one of our VCU School of Nursing programs, please attend one of the Open Houses for Accepted Students. Information is included in your acceptance packet.
Are reservations required for the School of Nursing Information Sessions?
  • Yes, space is limited so please fill out the form above if you are interested in attending an information session.
What should I bring to a VCU School of Nursing Information Session?
  • Individuals who are Registered Nurses and interested in RN-BS or RN-MS Programs can bring a copy of their academic transcripts to the 11 a.m. information session. We will collect the transcripts, complete an evaluation and email the evaluation to you within 10 working days. Prospective RN-BS and RN-MS applicants can also fax transcripts to the Office of Enrollment and Student Services at (804) 828-7743. 
I’m interested in becoming a Registered Nurse, should I bring anything to the information session?
  • Just bring your questions. If you are concerned about whether your courses will transfer, we will show you how to use the VCU Transfer Guide during the information session.
