Admissions
The VCU School of Nursing offers programs leading to bachelor’s, master’s and PhD degrees. You may be considering a career in nursing or you may be a Registered Nurse who wants to continue to the BS, MS or PhD in Nursing. A leader in nursing education, the VCU School of Nursing provides students with the knowledge and skills critical in today’s health care environment. The School’s state-of-the-science facility offers an environment for hands-on education led by experienced faculty members. A strong partnership with the VCU Medical Center ensures clinical experiences unavailable in other programs.

Please use the following outline to determine which program options are available for you at the VCU School of Nursing.
Undergraduate
- You are a current high school student.
- You are a college student interested in transferring to VCU.
- You are a current VCU student interested in nursing.
- You are a college graduate with a bachelor’s degree in a discipline other than nursing and looking for a career change.
- You are a Registered Nurse from an accredited (NLNAC) program looking to complete your bachelor’s degree.
Graduate
- You are a college graduate with a bachelor's degree in a discipline other than nursing and looking for a career change. (Accelerated MS)
- You are a Registered Nurse from an accredited (NLNAC) program looking to complete your bachelor’s and master’s degree.
- You are a Registered Nurse with a bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited (NLNAC or CCNE) program looking to become an advanced practice nurse.
- You are a Registered Nurse with an MS degree in nursing from an accredited (NLNAC or CCNE) program and are seeking certification in another nursing specialty.
- You have a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in nursing and want a doctoral degree.
