We have outlined expenses associated specifically with nursing school so you can plan ahead. All costs are approximate.

Accelerated B.S. and Traditional B.S.

  • Upon admission
    • Background check and drug screening: $76 minimum
    • The American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers CPR certification: price varies
    • Immunization: price varies
    • Stethoscope: $100
    • Supply fee: $45
    • Typhon: $50
    • Uniform (two full sets of scrubs): $90 approximately
  • Ongoing expenses
    • Textbooks: Up to $600 per semester
    • Transportation to clinical agencies, seminars and other events as required: price varies
  • Before graduation
    • Application for licensure (Virginia Board of Nursing): $190
    • NCLEX test: $200 per test

RN to B.S.

  • Upon admission
    • Background check and drug screening: $76 minimum
    • Immunization: price varies
  • Ongoing expenses
    • Textbooks: Up to $600 per semester

 Master’s and Post-master’s certificate

  • Upon admission
    • Background check and drug screening: $76 minimum
    • Immunization: price varies
    • Typhon: $80
  • Ongoing expenses
    • Textbooks: Up to $600 per semester
    • Transportation to clinical agencies, seminars and other events as required: price varies

 DNP and Ph.D.

  • Upon admission
    • Background check and drug screening: $76 minimum
    • Immunization: price varies
    • Reference management software: price varies
    • Typhon (DNP only): $80
  • Ongoing expenses
    • Textbooks: Up to $800 per semester
